Deposit Process
Different approaches to placing a deposit for a Legend Dog
- Families who place a deposit toward a future puppy get a protected spot in line and first option to any litter we have availability in based on your spot in the deposit line even if you placed a deposit for a future litter, if any current puppies become available you will be contacted before letting anyone else know or placing puppy as available on the website.
- We do this to encourage all families to get on the list which helps us provide the most realistic timelines for all our families. Families with a deposit get the first chance to bring one of these adorable, special pups home.
- Deposits are non-refundable do to us both making a commitment to a future life and a forever home
- In the instance that a Legend Puppy becomes available from a litter that we don't currently have reserved, you can apply for an Available puppy as a new depositor.
- From time to time we have Goldens available for adoption. This can be retired adults or Older puppies we have kept to possibly show but for some reason are no longer going to stay with us.
Deposit Waitlist
Legend Goldens is dedicated to purserving and protecting this purbred Golden Retriever breed.
How we decide if we are breeding a litter is based on how many people we have on our waitlist for a future puppy.
We Believe we are both making a commitment to a future life which is why deposits are non-refundable
Delay in the Process
We have no control over many factors that go into breeding a litter. Examples of things out of our control could include....
- how many puppies will be born in a litter
- Sex of puppies
- Color of puppies
- litters being aborted early or reabsorbed
- faluts pregnacy
- or girls just not conceving.
Prenatal care of the Mom and Litter
Once we breed a litter we start the potential mom on our prenatal care program and do everything in our power to produce a healthy litter. However, sometimes our best efforts don't produce a litter. Just like with people not every experience produces a pregnancy. However, we do our best to ensure happy healthy puppies when they are born. Following all of our Vets recommendations

Responsible Breeding Best Practices
Breeding responsibly means we have homes willing and ready for a puppy before we breed a litter. This is why we hold a non-refundable deposit waiting list. WE are both making a commitment to a future life.
The shelters and rescues are full of abandoned dogs, We feel by having people wait and commit to a puppy they will be better prepared for a puppy and the puppy will have a forever home.
IF for any reason you can not keep a dog from us we want them back no questions asked. We feel responsible for the puppies we breed and always want to know where they are at.
Picking out Your Puppy
Puppy picks are determined by the order in which you are added to the non-refundable deposit waitlist in the order they are received.
Legend Goldens reserves the right to choose first the puppies they will be keeping for showing and breeding since this is the main reason for doing this breeding
When you come to pick out your puppy and take them home you will be given guidance on which puppy we feel would be a good fit for your family and what the temperament testing of the puppy revealed during our test
