About Legend Puppies

If you're looking for a Golden Retriever Puppy  it is very important to find a reputable Golden Retriever Breeder who has the health concerns of the breed at the heart of their breeding program. It is only by testing and clearing breeding stock that the problems that plaque the breed can be brought under control. While this doesn't guarantee a perfect puppy, it does help in knowing that you and the breeder have done the what you can to find a healthy puppy. Some breeders are ignorant, or don't care about your puppy's health. Here at Legend Lake Golden Retrievers it is at the very heart of everything we do.

Puppy Health

At Legend Golden's, we have your puppy's health and well-being in mind. Our pups are de-wormed, vaccinated, and well socialized before they even go home. Our puppies are hand raised in our home from day one until they go to their new home.

Our puppies are the result of a careful, very selective breeding program combining over 40 years experience in the breed. We've learned a lot along the way. This careful consideration gives you the peace of mind that a Legend Lake puppy will be bred for temperament, breed type, quality, and boasting a beautiful typical coat. We stand behind our puppies and offer a guarantee with every puppy we sell.

Buyers are placed on a waiting list

While we would love to know the exact number of puppies that will be available, we have to rely on nature just like every other breeder. We will make every effort to provide you with a beautiful puppy as soon as possible. However, girls only come into season 2 times each year so we must rely on breeding cycles. Waiting for the right puppy is well worth the wait for many years of joy and happiness. Price of a puppy can change depending on a litter, so please check with is about the price of a litter you are looking to buy a puppy from. Prices are subject to change, different litters cost different prices based on a number of factors. when a puppy is offered to you we will also quote a price for that litter.

Jumpstart Puppies

At Legend Golden Retrievers most of the time we usually keep several puppies back. We keep them for a couple reasons: as replacement sires or dams, show prospects, or to start training for our jumpstart program if there are puppies available. We think people should have the opportunity to purchase a puppy which has been worked with and started.  We work on things like: House training, sit, Down, come when called, crate training, general house manners, place, settle, not chewing on things that are not theirs and more as it arises because they live with us in the house.

This is  a program that generally starts after you have purchased the puppy from us and starts at 8wks of age. Cost depends on how long the puppy is staying for training. Some people have the puppy stay for 4wks just to get them well started and sleeping through the night while others have them stay much longer.
